Baptism in the Anglican Parish of Kincumber
We are very pleased that you are interested in Christian Baptism for your child. We believe that Christian Baptism is an important spiritual step. We want to assure you that God accepts all children. It does not matter where we have come from to be accepted by God.
Within the Anglican Church, Baptism ususally takes place in your local Parish. The Kincumber Parish extends from Green Point to Wagstaff.

Beliefs
Before your child is baptised it is important for you to know what we in our church believe about Christian Baptism:
- We believe that bringing a child for Christian Baptism means that the parents want their child to belong to Jesus Christ. This Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who was born into our world 2000 years ago, lived, died on a cross and rose again. He is alive today.
- We believe that Christian Baptism involves a commitment to bring the child up as a follower of Jesus. Those who follow Jesus accept that He died on the cross, rose again to give us new life and that His teachings are recorded in the Bible.
- The commitment made by parents and godparents at Christian Baptism is difficult to keep. We believe that being a follower of Jesus yourself is the best way to keep this commitment.
- The purpose of the Christian Church is to support us in our commitment to following Jesus. The Church family will welcome and encourage you in your commitment to your child.
